Intelligence Test - Answers

Here are the answers to the previous post. The 20 books of the Bible that are hidden in the message are highlighted in blue. Some of them were tricky.

There are 20 books of the Bible lurking somewhere in this paragraph. Those able to find all of them will hear great lamentations from those who have to be shown. One revelation that may help is that books like Timothy and Samuel may occur without their numbers. Also, keep in mind, that punctuation and spaces in the middle are normal. A chipper attitude will help you. (People love these kinds of puzzles, something in our genes is responsible.) While you’re looking, let’s consider an important question. You probably consider yourself to be a good person, but are you good enough to go to Heaven? From answers to the following questions, we’ll find out… Have you ever told a lie? Have you ever stolen anything, (regardless of its value)? Have you ever used God’s name in vain? And just one more, have you ever looked at someone with lust (sexual desire)? Answer all of these truthfully. Now comes the bad news. If you’ve told lies, that makes you a liar – that's a fact. Steal just one time, and that makes you a thief. If you’ve used God’s name in vain, that’s blasphemy. And Jesus said that if you’ve looked at someone with lust, you’ve committed adultery in your heart. These are just a few of God’s Laws (the Ten Commandments) that you’re guilty of breaking. When God judges you, you’re in a jam; especially since He has given you a conscience. (Isn’t it true that every time you’ve done wrong, you knew it?) God’s place of punishment for those who break his laws is Hell, forever. But God did a most remarkable thing so that you wouldn’t have to go to Hell. Jesus died on the cross to take the punishment for our sins, then he rose again defeating death. If you repent and put your faith in Him, you will be saved. The truth is that you are not good enough to go to Heaven; it’s your job to admit it. Use your God-given will to live—let it drive you to turn from your sin (repentance) and put your faith in Jesus Christ for salvation. Humble yourself and talk to God in prayer right now. Find a Bible believing church to fellowship at, and start reading your Bible every day—start with the book of John. We’re almost to the end of the puzzle. If you didn’t find all the Bible books, don’t let it get on your nerves. There is a website you can go to: http://www.needGod.com/answers/

Did you get them all? Let me know.

A Little History on Marysville, Ohio - Our soon-to-be Home

Here is just a little history on Marysville, OH where we will be living and a part of the Living Hope church being planted.

Marysville is the county seat of Union County, Ohio. Samuel W. Cuthbertson founded the town in 1816. He named the community after his daughter Mary. The town grew slowly, having 360 residents in 1843. By 1846, the town included two churches, one private school, one newspaper office, and three stores.

Over the next forty years, Marysville grew dramatically, having a population of 2,832 residents in 1890. In 1888, two newspapers, six churches, three banks, and numerous manufacturing businesses existed in the town. The community's largest employer was Isaac Half, a furniture manufacturer, with forty-two employees. Most businesses provided services or products for farmers living in the surrounding countryside. By 1888, Marysville had earned the nickname "the Shaded City," due to all of the maple trees lining the community's streets.

Today, Marysville is an important center of manufacturing. In 1979, Honda of America opened its first plant in Marysville. Over the years Honda of America's Marysville facility has grown tremendously. It now employs approximately 13,000 people at four separate manufacturing locations near Marysville. The plants are capable of producing most types of Honda motor vehicles—from dirt bikes to cars to trucks. In 2000, Honda of America was Marysville's largest employer of the city's 15,942 residents.

Job Updates

So here are the things that are in the pipeline right now.

Cardinal Health - waiting to fill the position until July 1 - new fiscal year for them. (timing would work great for us)

JPMorganChase - they decided to go with a local candidate.

Nationwide Insurance - waiting to hear back from them after the phone interview the other day. They currently aren't actively looking for someone in my position, but said they would possibly entertain bringing me on if things work out.

Scott's Miracle-Gro - -have applied online for a position there, but have yet to hear anything back on it. (They may have decided my experience did not fit what they were looking for or possibly they are waiting until they close the job posting so as to assess all resumes received. Not sure about it. My gut tells me that they didn't think it was a good fit since it was not really what I have been doing for most of my career.)

Columbus Bureau of Credit - possible opportunity there. new position that is created. Waiting to hear back from the recruiter that was helping me.

Please continue to pray about these opportunities and for others that God may put in front of me. Thank you very much.

Disobedience?

Just a thought that I had. You know, so often we talk about being disobedient when God has shown His will for something in our lives. It could be a multitude of things that He has revealed. It always seems like we mainly concentrate on the fact that disobedience occurs only after God has shown us His will. I would submit that we should be just as concerned about disobedience before He reveals His will in certain aspects. We can find ourselves not waiting on God to clearly reveal His will to us. We can certainly get in front of God's timing and I believe that is just as bad as not following His revealed will immediately. When we get in front of God's timing, we are telling Him that we can do it better.

Thankfully, we serve a God that is bigger than all of our mistakes and disobedience. He continues to bless us in spite of ourselves!! God is good!!

Phone Interview with Nationwide

So I have a phone interview on Thursday morning with Nationwide for a possible opportunity in the IT Audit group. It is at 7am CST and should last about 30 minutes or so. It looks like it could be a good opportunity. My prayer is that the Lord shows me clearly (and that I am obedient to follow) His will for my employment in the Columbus area.

We are very eager about moving to Marysville. We are ready to know where I am going to work and to get the ball rolling on all of the other things that need to happen (i.e., selling our house, buying a house in Marysville, moving, etc., etc.). While we are so eager, we also have to be careful that we seek the Lord's timing for everything.
