News

Not a whole lot of news to update on. God has closed the door on the opportunity at Nationwide. It was disappointing certainly, but we are just trusting in God as He has called us to be in Ohio and we know that He goes before us.

I recently met several individuals who work at companies in the Columbus area and am moving down that path to talk with each of them further. They were both currently working in the internal audit groups at their respective companies. I have heard back from one of the companies so we'll see what transpires with that.

We are also praying about another opportunity that may involve starting our own business. It would be a franchise type of business. We are taking a look and asking God if this is something that He would have us do. It would certainly be a GREAT way to get connected into the community.

Thanks for your prayers!! We certainly covet them.

Trip to Columbus

I realize that this is a little out of order with my previous post, but I just wanted to share a little bit about my trip to Columbus. Nationwide brought me up on Sunday. Instead of flying on the direct flight from Memphis to Columbus, I had to fly through Charlotte, NC and then on to Columbus. This was basically due to the fact that going through Charlotte saved about $800. Anyway, I wasn't all that excited about flying the extra flight, but God showed me why this was the way He wanted me to get there. First, on my flight from Memphis, I had the opportunity to sit next to a guy named Keith that lives in memphis. He and I had a conversation about multiple topics for the entire flight. I had the opportunity to share the Gospel with him toward the end of the flight and walk him through the Gospel. He was very open and even mentioned that he felt like God was trying to get his attention with me sitting next to him. He now knows how he can get eternal life and I have challenged him to ensure he takes possession of it for himself. I am hopeful that he and I can get together for lunch sometime and talk some more.
If that wasn't enough, on the second flight, I found myself sitting next to a Messianic Jewish rabbi. His name is Rabbi Kirt Schneider and he lives in Columbus and knows the pastor at Dublin Baptist Church, which is the local sponsoring church for Living Hope. Anyway, we had just a sweet time of fellowship on our flight. He was so encouraging to me. He prayed for me while we were flying and it was a wonderful, encouraging, uplifting prayer. He prayed so loud and so fervently that many people around us heard the prayers. It was really a neat thing. He actually has a TV program that airs on DirecTV on The Church Channel and NRB. His program is Discovering the Jewish Jesus. His website is www.discoveringthejewishjesus.com. I haven't checked the website out too much yet, but I plan on it. I also plan on looking him up once we are in Columbus. I think that he can certainly teach a lot about reaching out to the Jewish community.

Waiting

Well, I had some interviews with Nationwide on 5/5. I feel like everything went well, but I am just waiting to hear back from them on how they felt about the interviews. It looks like a great opportunity with minimal travel involved. Most of my travel actually would be going into the office each day as Nationwide is in downtown Columbus. Pretty good drive from Marysville. Regardless, we are looking for God to show us His will in this matter and we want to be obedient to it.
